Job Opportunities
We are seeking highly motivated and talented postdoctoral fellows in
computational and mathematical biology to work in our group at the UCLA
Cardiovascular Laboratories in the following research areas: 1) intracellular
calcium cycling dynamics and cardiac arrhythmias; 2) dynamics of cardiac
metabolism. Using a systems approach combining mathematical modeling with
biological experiments, our goals are to develop computational models to
elucidate underlying dynamical mechanisms of biological (experimental)
phenomena, and to generate hypotheses and predictions that can be validated
experimentally.
The qualified candidates must have a PhD in physics, mathematics, or a
related field and demonstrate an outstanding academic record including
publications. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in
nonlinear dynamics. Starting date can be as early as July 1st, 2009. Salary
level is dependent on experience.
